Let Freedom Ring

This image was created by Danny Faught as a remembrance of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. A year ago, I was searching for the right image to express my feelings, and the children and faculty of J. T. Stevens Elementary School in Fort Worth, Texas provided one for me as they gathered to sing patriotic songs in front of a simple but very appropriate message (see the pictures below). This year's image is patterned after that one. The design in the chain link fence was created by pushing painted cups into the fence. Because of the strong international response I got when working on this year's image, instead of the US flag anchoring both sides, I used the "blue marble" images of the earth from NASA. Follow the link for higher resolution pictures, which are spectacular.
